Donuts in the Breakroom

I got to work one rainy Friday morning and while I was heading to my office I spotted donuts in the breakroom.  As I was putting my lunch away I took a peek.  They did look good but I thought to myself, "I'm not hungry. I already had breafast at home. I'm usually disappointed because they don't taste as good as they look."  I then went back to my office and got to work.  I ran back to the breakroom a couple hours later to get another water and there was only one donut left.  I had just eaten my banana and handful of almonds.  (I HAD COMPLETELY FORGOT ABOUT THE DONUTS!)  I once again thought to myself, "I'm full and satisfied." 

It DID NOT take WILLPOWER- it took me simply listening to my own cues.  I'm not saying I always skip the donuts, cookies, etc that are brought into our breakroom but today I did and it was easy!  I love the process of intuitive eating and learning and growing everyday.  I feel that lately it has been so much easier to listen and honor those cues of hunger/fullness/satisfaction. 

Anyone ever have a similiar experience where they didn't feel they were missing out when they skipped on something they normally would eat or that they went ahead and ate it only to be disappointed.  If so, we'd love to hear about it on our Facebook page!

 

Have No Fear Spring is Here!

            It’s getting warmer outside and your finding yourself dreaming of those perfect sunny days relaxing by the pool, sipping lemonade, and kicking back to your favorite summer tunes. First things first though, it’s time to get back into the groove of running outside and getting that “perfect summer body”. Diets on top of diets are thrown at you trying to get you to lose weight as fast as possible, and you’re fully on board! But is that the best option for you? In a time full of so much beauty with flowers blooming and the air smelling sweet, why would we want to starve ourselves to look “perfect” in that awesome summer outfit? How about this summer we aim to FEEL great in that outfit. What if we strived to feel a little more confident and a little less hungry?? Grab a friend and get outside and enjoy being in the sun! Lay off the foods that drag your body down and eat foods that make you feel great! This summer go for that best part of you that shines brighter from the inside than the out!
